Other Uses for Fuel Tank Wash

DPSThe following are some notes regarding secondary uses of the USED tank cleaning solutions.

The chemicals are totally compatible with each other and can be mixed without any difficulties.

Blue Liquid PN: 0301B
(for gas tank wash steps 1 & 4 )

This product is a biodegradable cleaner that is a high suds type product. This cleaner basically lifts off solid deposits. Due to the fact that it is a wetting agent it will lift off oil and grease deposits from metal or plastic surfaces and is safe for use on all types of painted surfaces. This product is slightly adhesive and will remain on surfaces until rinsed off. It is a good all purpose cleaner, safe for washing of clear coated aluminum wheels, polished, painted or powder coated aluminum castings, general vehicle washing (it will remove wax) spray / wipe or dip cleaning of tools, and other shop cleaning duties.

Due to the fact that it is slippery and a not harmful to rubber it may also be used (when mixed with water) to mount tires or to check for air leaks etc.

If this product is used for cleaning of the shop floor, a rinse mop should be used to remove any slippery residues.  This product will dry, but if water is spilled on the floor at a later date it may re-suds and may be slippery.  Used product may also have oil or fuel residues that could be slippery.

Proper disposal of this product may include: addition to re-cycling car washing systems, addition to pressure washing sumps, disposal with other water based industrial fluids.

Green Powder PN: 0301G
(for gas tank wash step #2)

This product is a strong water soluble industrial cleaner.  Secondary uses for this cleaner are general industrial shop cleaning.  It is safe for use on concrete floors & it is safe for use on painted floors but may dull some glossy waxed finishes if left to soak.  It is not recommended for use on asphalt or other petroleum based surfaces.  Tools may be cleaned with this product, it may also be used for soak-cleaning of dirty parts.  This product is fully compatible with most water based aqueous solvent tank systems, hot tank cleaning cabinets, and other water based chemicals.  If used in spray cabinets be sure that pressure release system is in good working condition to avoid foam overflow.  This product is a low suds product, however residue from step 1 of the tank cleaning process may be present.

Do not mix with chlorine type cleaners or bleach.

This product is a corrosion inhibited product and may be used for cleaning of aluminum and other alloys, most plastic parts, and most rubber parts.

It is not recommended for use on gloss finished painted surfaces as finish dulling may occur, and gloss wax will be removed.

This product is safe for use on powder coated, chrome or anodized surfaces.  This product may soften some adhesives, and oil based paints.

Do not allow product to dry on painted surfaces because a slight powder film will be left.  Slight surface scratching may occur if dry material is wiped from plastic surfaces.

The dry dust could cause mild skin irritation if handled for long periods.

This product is temperature sensitive: the cleaning ability of this product increases with temperature.
